Artists Statement The close-up image of an eye peering out of the BIX Facade will give people a sense of being watched by the building. It is as if the museum itself were alive. I hope that, having acquired this “eye,”the Kunsthaus will enjoy better communication with people and the surrounding city, opening it up even further to the world at large.
クロースアップの「目」がビックファサードに映し出されることで、 人々が建物に見つめられているという感覚を味わう。 それはつまり美術館そのものがあたかも生きているよう見えるということ。 「目」を獲得したクンストハウスが、人と街とコミュニケーション出来ることを、 さらには、世界へと開かれることを願います。 (BIXファサード・メディアコンペティション優秀賞受賞コメントより)
